Once you have installed the CloudMonitor Power BI Reports from the Microsoft AppSource Marketplace, you will notice that it is displaying sample data and needs to be connected to your own Azure costs:
Clicking on the “Connect your data” link will show the login popup below:
Your Login Credentials
Note: You will not be able to connect the Power BI reports to SQL without contacting our support staff as they need to configure the CloudMonitor Analytics Engine first in order to give you your personal credentials.
The easiest way to do this is to send an email [email protected] and we’ll help you set up the CloudMonitor Azure Analytics Engine which creates your unique cost insights. It is important to note that both the CloudMonitor Reports and the CloudMonitor Analytics Engine are free so you can trial them for as long as you like with no obligation to buy.
Once this has been done, our staff will send you an email containing your Username and Password which will look something like this (this is an example only and will NOT work if you enter these values):
- SQL Server Name: example-dbserver.database.windows.net
- User Name: CloudMonitor
- Password: YourUniquePassword
Copy the SQL Server Name into the popup and check that you have set your report to refresh at midnight, and click on “Next”.
Leave the Authentication Method as “Basic” and copy the User name and Password into the textboxes as in the screenshot below:
After you click on “Sign in and connect” your Power BI report will refresh and show you your own cost insights. If this is not the case, please reply to our email and we’ll help out.
