What data CloudMonitor can see betafabric
CloudMonitor reads standard Azure Cost Management datasets — the same cost, pricing, and reservation records you can export yourself from the Azure portal. Every field is published by Microsoft, so you can see exactly what we ingest.
The datasets we ingest
Section titled “The datasets we ingest”Which datasets apply depends on your billing account type — Enterprise Agreement (EA), Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA), or CSP / partner (you are billed under your partner’s MCA, so the MCA schemas apply). The Cost Management dataset schema index is Microsoft’s authoritative list. Open any link below to see every field in that dataset.
| Dataset | What it contains | Field schema (Microsoft Learn) |
|---|---|---|
| Cost and usage details — FOCUS 1.2-preview | Every cost and usage line item: resources, meters, quantities, effective and list prices, and amortized costs. The core dataset, published in the open FOCUS format and shared across EA and MCA. | FOCUS 1.2-preview · EA · MCA |
| Price sheet | Your organization’s negotiated and list prices per meter. | EA · MCA |
| Reservation details | Your reservation inventory and how much of each reservation was used. | Schema |
| Reservation recommendations | Where buying a reservation would cut your rate. | Schema |
| Reservation transactions | Reservation purchases, exchanges, and refunds. | Schema |
How this maps to your agreement
Section titled “How this maps to your agreement”- Enterprise Agreement (EA): cost and usage via FOCUS 1.2-preview (or the EA cost and usage schema), the EA price sheet, and the reservation datasets above.
- Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA): cost and usage via FOCUS 1.2-preview (or the MCA cost and usage schema), the MCA price sheet, and MCA reservation details.
- CSP / partner: you are billed under your partner’s Microsoft Customer Agreement, so the MCA schemas apply. Some billing-scope data (for example, reservation purchases) is held by your partner; where you only have subscription access, CloudMonitor reads cost and usage at the subscription scope. See the access guide for what to grant.
