Limited Microsoft Fabric experience

Move from the Fabric workload to full CloudMonitor.

If you found CloudMonitor in the Fabric Workload Hub, you are using a limited, read-only discovery experience. The full CloudMonitor app is the primary product for connected cost history, allocation, savings, budgets, administration, and Ask Finn.

Know which experience you are using

The Fabric workload is a doorway, not the destination.

The workload gives people who discover CloudMonitor in Microsoft Fabric a narrow, read-only preview. The full CloudMonitor app is the product your team uses for connected FinOps analysis, configuration, governance, and administration. Full-product features depend on your plan, connected data, and permissions.

  • Fabric
The Fabric workload connects only to limited Microsoft and Fabric data.
Connect supported billing, AI usage and notification services in the full CloudMonitor app, subject to your plan and permissions. See the connector list below.
Fabric inventory View the capacities, workspaces and items your Microsoft account can access. Keep Fabric inventory visibility and add cost reporting from your connected billing data.
Azure and AWS cost reporting A recent seven-day Azure cost view for accessible subscriptions, subject to Microsoft permissions. AWS billing and connected export history are not included. Explore connected Azure and AWS billing, cost trends and the resources driving spend.
Fabric capacity cost Inventory details such as SKU, region and state. No dedicated Fabric cost-history report. Review capacity-level Fabric F SKU charges from your Azure FOCUS export.
Cost allocation Not included. Review costs by cost group and owner using your configured allocation rules.
Savings and commitments Not included. Review cost recommendations, commitment coverage, utilization and realized savings where the required data is connected.
Microsoft 365 Copilot View purchased and assigned seats when Microsoft permissions allow. Seat counts do not show usage or adoption. Add Microsoft 365 usage and licensing reports after the required connections and administrator consent are configured.
Ask Finn Not included. Available in the full CloudMonitor app with eligible plans and access. Ask Finn is not available in the Fabric workload app.
Getting started Open the Fabric workload and complete consent. No CloudMonitor cost-data setup is required. Choose a paid plan and complete onboarding to connect your billing data and provision your CloudMonitor environment.

CU consumption, throttling and CU-based workspace or item chargeback are sample-data previews until a production telemetry feed is connected. Upgrading does not make those previews live. Read about current Fabric reporting.
