How to connect Cursor
This guide creates a Cursor Admin API key so CloudMonitor can read team usage and seat data from your Cursor account. Allow about 5 minutes. You need to be a Cursor team admin to complete it, and your team must be on the Business or Enterprise plan — the Admin API is not available on Hobby or Pro tiers.
Step 1 — Generate an Admin API key
Section titled “Step 1 — Generate an Admin API key”Open cursor.com → Settings and switch to the Team tab. Open Admin API and click Create key. Name it CloudMonitor. Copy the key — it’s shown only once.
Step 2 — Add the key in CloudMonitor
Section titled “Step 2 — Add the key in CloudMonitor”In the CloudMonitor Admin App, go to Settings → AI providers → Cursor → Add connector.
Paste the Admin key. Click Verify.
Step 3 — Confirm the 14-day backfill
Section titled “Step 3 — Confirm the 14-day backfill”CloudMonitor pulls the most recent 14 days as proof the connector works. You should see:
- Paid seat count and current price
- Per-developer model mix — which model each developer used and how often
- Included vs overage usage, the ratio that drives true cost per developer
- Input vs output token split
If the totals match the Cursor Team Admin dashboard, click Save.
Step 4 — Polling cadence
Section titled “Step 4 — Polling cadence”CloudMonitor polls daily. Cursor’s Admin API does not currently support intraday granularity. Reports refresh the morning after each Cursor billing day closes.
